New Adventures Made By Music

Happy New Year fans and friends

New Year, New Horizons, New Adventures.  I had the pleasure of traveling during the holidays in 2020 and 2021.  Touring the East Coast of the United States of America. It started with spontaneity, as most of my adventures do, and a trip north, to New Hampshire, with a childhood friend.  The experiences along the way are now cherished memories; running out of gas, getting caught with our "hand in the cookie jar", turning strangers into friends.  And what makes this all amazing to me is it is all founded in music.  It is music that connected my path with this friend so many years ago and it, today, is music that made this journey happen.  It is music that enabled me to meet new people on this adventure.  It is music that made people laugh, smile, cry, connect, feel alive, breath freely - all during a pandemic where these basic human emotions and behaviors are missing for so many.  Music makes the adventure in my life, and many others.

2020 ended with some musical adventures and 2021 is starting just the same.  There is much to look forward to, as I hit the stages again and again to do what I love and perform songs to take you on your adventures.  I hope you will join me for the journey!

The Best Is Yet to Come.

With Peace, Love and Music, Antoine Cerf

The Other Studio

I lift the guitar strap over my head, make sure the levels on the amp are down, and unplug. I’m done in the music studio for today.  I take that guitar and hang in on the wall where she belongs. Even though she’s lovely there on her perch I prefer her in my hands but we both need a rest.

Across the studio is a rack of coat hooks. Most have microphone cables hanging on them. But upon one hook hangs a green apron. That apron is old. Frayed a bit and stained in all the colors of years passed - the refuse, if you will, of the many thoughts and creations it has seen throughout its life.

It is now when I trade one studio for another, when I transition from musical artist to visual artist. In a contrasting motion from lifting the guitar strap over my head to temporarily put the music to rest, I lift the apron strap over my head - as if putting on a new uniform - to become the artist. Two different uniforms that alternate orbits around my head.  As if physical metaphors for their respective outpits  bouncing excitedly inside my head. Uncertain of what creations will result from this session, I pick up a paintbrush.

It’s time to go to the other studio.

I will be sharing the visual arts of Antoine Cerf with my friends...my fans...with all of you here on my blog. There’s a small sample below.  I’ll tell the story of the deer soon, stay tuned. Let’s get connected!
